Security advice for ProCall client for Windows – Apache log4net versions before 2.0.10
SECURITY NOTE PROCALL ENTERPRISE UPDATE TROUBLESHOOTING MAINTENANCE
Apache log4net versions prior to 2.0.10 do not disable external XML entities when parsing log4net configuration files. This allows XXE-based attacks in applications that accept attacker-controlled log4net configuration files. This component was shipped with the ProCall client for Windows, but was only used when the Google integration was launched.
estos has already released updates with fixes for the vulnerability for ProCall 7 Enterprise, ProCall 6 Enterprise and ProCall Business.
Customers and partners can obtain the updates via the known channels and follow the normal update process.

estos software not affected by critical vulnerability in log4j (CVE-2021-44228)
SECURITY
The German Federal Office for Information Security has declared IT Threat Level 4/Red for the CVE-2021-44228 ("log4shell") vulnerability in the widely used Java software library log4j.
estos products are not affected by this vulnerability and can continue to be used without modification and without hesitation.

ProCall Mobile app for Android: Set call window and call account

In the ProCall Mobile app for Android, you can activate a call account and decide whether you want to use the ProCall Mobile in-app call window or the Android call window. The choice affects the availability of features and the appearance of the app. How to activate the call account and the differences between the Android call window and the ProCall Mobile in-app call window are summarized here. Activating the call account and registering ProCall as an app for telephony may also help to improve the call quality for softphone calls.

Set up default presence and telephony applications in Microsoft Office

With Microsoft Windows, there are different technical options for integrating ProCall as a default application for selected actions. Depending on the depth of the integration, different interfaces are used here. In our new article we describe the integration in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Outlook and show how you can set the default applications (apps) in Windows 11 or Windows 10.
Extend call window to display a URL
PROCALL ENTERPRISE CLIENT CALL WINDOW CONFIGURATION
The ProCall client for Windows offers the possibility to extend the call window with a URL call. We have described with an example how you can proceed here and which requirements have to be observed.
In this example, a call to a specific URL is to be made via the call window for an incoming call. The call to the URL is triggered by a button in the call window.

ProCall Business license cannot be entered in the UCConnect portal
ProCall Business can be activated via UCConnect. If no license can be entered, this may be because, for example, no retailer account is used for the setup:

METADIRECTORY ENTERPRISE DATA SOURCES CONTACT MERGE SEARCH HOW-TO
By activating the "Contact Merge" feature, contacts with the same e-mail address or the same SIP address are automatically merged and all information is displayed as one contact. The criteria that lead to contact merging can be freely defined on the MetaDirectory server.

Text/CSV file replication fails due to an incorrect record
METADIRECTORY ENTERPRISE TROUBLESHOOTING REPLICATOR DATA SOURCESANALYSIS
If Text/CSV file replication in MetaDirectory (as of version 5.0.15) fails, although the same replicator with an older MetaDirectory version has run through successfully, a faulty entry in the source file may be the cause.
While older MetaDirectory versions skipped the erroneous entries during replication and thus caused data set losses, replication as of version 5.0.15 terminates at data inconsistency.
Incorrect content in the source file must be corrected. Our new article shows how to proceed:

Reminder: NGN21 shutdown from 31/12/2021
PROCALL ENTERPRISE NGN21 FEDERATION END-OF-LIFE DISCONNECTION
We previously offered the possibility to set up a federation between ProCall Enterprise installations via NGN21 (beta). This made it possible to use presence exchange and a chat across the corporate boundary between ProCall Enterprise installations.
The interest in NGN21 has decreased thanks to alternative setup options, which has led us to discontinue the operation of NGN21 after 31 December 2021.
