IN PRACTICE

New presence status in ProCall: "Appear as offline"
Starting with ProCall 8.9, users have the option of setting their presence status in such a way that it is not visible to others for others .
Others cannot see whether someone is logged in or busy sind or currently on the phone.

For this purpose, ProCall offers the function Presence status "Appear as offline".
This status ensures that someone can be logged in and active, but their presence status is permanently displayed as "Offline" to other users until the status is changed or reset.
This function can be set from ProCall Desktop for Windows, ProCall Web (Preview) and ProCall Mobile. All functions such as telephony, chat, etc. continue to work as usual, even if the status "Appear as offline" is set.
Migration from ProCall 8 Enterprise to ProCall NEX – from on-premises to cloud
We have compiled a list of things you should consider when switching from ProCall Enterprise (on-premises) to ProCall NEX (cloud).
Since customer systems and environments vary greatly, this article is not a step-by-step guide, but rather highlights important points for preparation and switchover to the new system (GoLive):
UCServer configuration, users/groups depending on the selected user management (AD or local), journal and MetaDirectory, ProCall Clients and SIP trunk.

USEFUL INFORMATION
ProCall NEX Service Specification – a technical overview of the key functions and options
ProCall NEX is a combination of estos ProCall 8 and a cloud telephone system.
The basic configuration and user and group management are carried out in estos UCServer.
Further configurations can be carried out on the telephone system via a website.
ProCall NEX has an integrated ECSTA, which is used to control call forwarding and end devices.
The scope of services varies depending on the selected tariff and the platforms used, such as Microsoft Windows, Apple iOS/macOS and Google Android.
We have compiled an overview of the key features of ProCall NEX for you:
Increase ProCall availability/reliability: Connecting multiple AD domain controllers in UCServer
ProCall version 8.8.3 expands the options for connecting UCServer to a Microsoft Active Directory (AD) domain controller.
The Microsoft domain controller (DC) – or Active Directory (AD) repository – is the central directory service for managing user, group and computer accounts required by UCServer.
A failure of the AD domain controller (ADDC) means that the relevant information is not accessible and authentication and authorisation problems occur.
To ensure availability and better reliability when operating the systems and services of the UCServer, it makes sense to connect several AD domain controllers:
ProCall 8: Improvement and expansion of the collection group function for softphones in UCServer
Since ProCall 8.9, collective groups can now be used as "agent groups". Members of the group who use a softphone can log in and out of the group.
Depending on the status, incoming calls to the group are then delivered to the user or not. Other group members with a softphone can see the status of members in their favourites and on the monitor.
The status of members is displayed in the UCServer administration: "Logged in", "Logged out", "Logged in, but all ProCall clients closed", "Logged out and all ProCall clients closed".
Also new:
- Time-controlled call forwarding for softphones for ProCall Desktop for Windows
- SIP steering group: differentiated behaviour for logged-out clients or DND
