Microsoft’s discontinuation of the EWS (Exchange Web Services) API
Microsoft has announced to gradually phase out the Exchange Web Services (EWS) API in Exchange Online from October 2026 and is expected to be completely deactivated April 2027To ensure that ProCall can continue to retrieve information (e.g. appointments, contacts, mailbox items) from Microsoft cloud services via this API from October 2026 onwards, the ‘access to Exchange Web Services’ which will have been blocked by then must be re-enabled (EWSEnabled=true) in time before October.
Further information on the discontinuation and the procedure to follow can be found here: Retirement of EWS API by Microsoft - what does that mean for connecting estos applications to Microsoft online services?
Bug fixes/improvements
UCServer
If the UCServer (with the SIP server enabled) is connected directly to another estos UCServer via a static route, audio and video chat as well as screen sharing are now also supported.
- Permissions for audio/video chats and the softphone can now be granted separately. This means, for example, that a user’s permission to use audio chat and/or video chat can be revoked, whilst they can still use the softphone.
- If a phone number, including spaces, was entered in a group, it could not be matched when an incoming call was received and was therefore not forwarded to the agents. This issue has been resolved.
- If the ‘Allow chat’ feature had been disabled for users in their profile or globally, users were not given the option to start a chat anywhere. This issue has been resolved.
- If a telephone number is assigned to a group, this is now displayed in the table during line selection.
- When assigning a phone number to a group, only SIP lines are now displayed.
- The ‘Team Member’ pickup authorisation was incorrectly assessed for the ‘Business 2’ department. This error has been rectified.
- The call pickup function on a Reventix telephone system (feature code required) was not working correctly. This fault has now been rectified.
- The function for creating PCAP traces, which is integrated into UCServer, has been revised.
The behaviour when closing and restarting UCWeb has been improved.
If the UCWeb service was not completely closed during a restart, the listening port might remain blocked and the UCServer might report that the port was already in use upon start-up. This issue has been resolved. When user data from Active Directory was updated on a scheduled basis, several similar background tasks might, under certain circumstances, run in parallel. The control mechanism has been optimised to ensure that execution is more consistent and stable.
The UCServer could crash when accessing certain configuration directories. This bug has been fixed.
If WebSocket data was incorrect or invalid (e.g. between UCServer and UCWeb), the UCServer could crash or become unstable. The connection is now terminated correctly in the event of protocol errors; crashes related to this issue have been resolved.
In isolated cases, the UCServer could freeze when disconnecting from UCConnect. This issue has been resolved.
The ‘Web Service’ role for UCWeb was occasionally not displayed in the UCServer Administration, even though UCWeb was connected. This issue has been resolved. The display of UCWeb roles and permissions in the UCServer Administration is now more reliable.
- When connected via SIP to Alcatel OmniPCX Office (OXO Connect), an incoming call routed through a UCServer collection group could not be transferred using the "consultation" function. This issue has been resolved.
- When a call was picked up internally on a SIP softphone line, audio transmission might fail in certain environments, particularly when not using UCConnect. This issue has been resolved.
- For anonymous connections (e.g. from LiveChat), the UCServer no longer returns a list of STUN/TURN servers in the CreateSession result.
ProCall Desktop for Windows
- A new Yealink SDK has been implemented: Yealink HID SDK 3.1.1.26
- An error whilst processing search queries caused ProCall Desktop for Windows to crash. This issue has been resolved.
- When integrating with Outlook via MAPI, EOConnector.exe would crash if an existing recurring appointment was edited and the location field contained a % character. This issue has been resolved.
- Occasional crashes of the interface when setting up "custom actions" have been fixed.
- When using the ‘Prepare call’ function via a line monitored by CSTA, the note or comment entered was not saved. The issue has been resolved; the note is now also displayed in the log.
- Actions created in ProCall Desktop for Windows were no longer executed or were no longer present after the clients had reconnected. The problem has been resolved.
- If the user had lines assigned under ‘Phone 1’ and ‘Phone 2’, a call made via one of these lines was displayed twice in the favourites. This issue has been resolved.
- The display of the ‘Me’ section is no longer dependent on the screen resolution.
- In Remote Desktop mode, incoming chat messages are only opened on the remote computer if the classic chat version is used. When using the web-based chat version (WebView2), a Windows notification is displayed on both computers. If the RDP session is running in full-screen mode, this notification remains in the background on the local computer.
- If ProCall Desktop for Windows was minimised whilst the ‘Chat’ tab was active, the chat window would sometimes initially appear black, and ProCall Desktop would only be minimised after about 5 to 6 seconds. This issue has been resolved.
