ProCall App for Web – range of functions and limitations
06 May 2025
Preview!
The software is available as a preview version . There are still limitations in terms of functionality and quality. We are continuously working on further development.
The information provided here is still preliminary and is constantly being added to.
Tab "Calls"
- In the Communication area, calls (TAPI or softphone), audio and video chats (including screen sharing) can be made.
- In addition to ProCall contacts, also data sources connected via the UCServer, e.g. contacts from the MetaDirectory, are also searched and displayed in the search if set up accordingly.
Alternatively, the desired telephone numbers can be entered directly in the search field. Recent calls are displayed in the call list with a direct callback option. Functions such as setting call diversions or logging in and out of hunt groups can also be carried out conveniently via the search/dialling field by entering feature codes supported by the telephone system. - The presence display of contacts enables efficient communication. The availability of a colleague can be seen at a glance and the appropriate communication channel can be selected.
- In addition to selecting the line for outgoing calls, the audio devices can also be selected here.
Further functions are available in the call window, such as forward, enquiry, hold, devices, microphone and end call. In addition to the contact information, the quality of voice and video transmission is also displayed directly in the call window (bandwidth/average value).
Various functions are available in the "More" menu of the call window: Notes can be entered, the numeric keypad for DTMF tones and the Real-Time Text (RTT) function can be activated and other actions such as chat, e-mail or calendar can be started .
- Activating the Real-Time Text (RTT) function enables text to be sent and received in real time during a softphone or TAPI call as well as video and audio chats between two call participants who are both using the ProCall app for web. The text is transmitted character by character, resulting in barrier-free communication. Speakers and writers are treated equally so that speech and text are seamlessly combined. The function facilitates communication for all users who cannot or do not wish to speak, such as deaf or hearing-impaired people.
Tab "Chat"
- In the Chat area, you will find the familiar chat functions from the ProCall client for Windows.
Conducting individual and group chats, sending images and documents to colleagues or starting a call or audio or video chat directly from a chat are just some of the supported functions.
Tab "Journal"
- The journal provides an overview of calls, audio and video chats.
- Entries can be searched, grouped and filtered.
"My" Area
- In the My area, you can edit your own presence and notes.

General
- Emergency call signalling: It is possible to configure call number prefixes for different locations that can be identified by IP addresses, which ensure that the emergency call is made via the location-specific exchange connection including location identification in order to be routed directly to the nearest control centre at. If the IP address cannot be assigned to a location, a message is displayed to the user. (available from UCServer version 8.7).
The use of virtual backgrounds consumes local system resources. As a result, video streaming may not be available in the best possible quality or may not be available on certain end devices or browser versions.
As the ProCall App for Web is continuously being developed, unannounced changes are possible.
Ongoing softphone calls or audio/video chats may be interrupted if you update the app during a call.
Ongoing calls are also ended when the browser tab in which the ProCall App for Web is displayed is closed or reloaded.
Please note that the appearance and the options for use/setup may vary depending on the browser variant used.
