Notes on the upgrade procedure for major release change
Before replacing an existing installation with MetaDirectory 6 Enterprise, please refer to the upgrade procedure.
Welcome to MetaDirectory 6 Enterprise
MetaDirectory 6 Enterprise is the new generation and further development of the powerful directory service from version 5. The LDAP (Light Weight Directory Access) server merges different databases into a single, company-wide, consistent LDAP directory. The intelligent preparation of data, such as employee and customer contacts, enables easy searching and fast presentation of results. Thanks to the standardization of data into a uniform format (LDAP schema) and the automated normalization of phone numbers, an efficient search can be performed even in large and distributed databases.

Improvements
Any profile can now be set as the default profile. The profile marked as default is assigned to all newly created users. All profiles can be activated and deactivated.
- The MetaDirectory website has been given a help page for users.
- If the Microsoft .Net 4.8 required for some replicators is not installed, a message is displayed during installation and the installation is aborted.
Bug fixes
- If a FetchXML query was entered that did not return a result, the setup of the Microsoft Dynamics 365 replicator was terminated with an error. The replicator can now be set up.
- The problem that the setup of the DATEV replicator was aborted with error message 0x80131534 has been resolved.
- The user count for accessing a phone book can no longer be evaluated, so the display has been removed.
- Problem: The MetaServer crashes when the authorization list is accessed at the same time. Access has been made more secure.
