Notes on the upgrade procedure for major release change
Before replacing an existing installation with MetaDirectory 6 Enterprise, please refer to the upgrade procedure.
Welcome to MetaDirectory 6.1 Enterprise
MetaDirectory 6 Enterprise is the new generation and further development of the powerful directory service from version 5. The LDAP (Light Weight Directory Access) server merges different databases into a single, company-wide, consistent LDAP directory. The intelligent preparation of data, such as employee and customer contacts, enables easy searching and fast presentation of results. Thanks to the standardization of data into a uniform format (LDAP schema) and the automated normalization of phone numbers, an efficient search can be performed even in large and distributed databases.

Improvements
- It was possible to change the installation path during an update. This should not be possible. The path is now displayed, but can no longer be changed.
- After a restore (MetaDir was moved to a new server), all replicators are now started once.
- As with UCServer, you can now log out of UCConnect.
- The log files and optionally the configuration of the MetaDirectory can be made available as a ZIP package from the MetaDirectory Administrator.
Bug fixes
- The vulnerabilities in the installers have been fixed: Security advisory: Microsofts WiX-Installer-Toolset
- Fixed a problem that caused MetaAdmin to crash sporadically when selecting menu items.
- Fixed a bug where replication in the Google people replicator was canceled with the message "The path has an invalid format".
- Fixed a problem where the search result for Mitel SIP Phones was always displayed in German although the MetaDirectory and the SIP Phone were configured in English.
- Fixed a bug where contact details were not displayed in the web search with active user management.
- After updating MetaDirectory to version 6, version 5 was displayed in the tab of the MetaDirectory web search page. This has been adjusted.
- Fixed a problem with replication via Microsoft Graph Replicator where replication was aborted with large amounts of data.
- An "incorrect" error was written in AdminLog_2023_XX_YY.txt when clicking on Server Log. The entry is now no longer generated.
- The MetaDirectory server crashed after an update from version 5.0.18 to version 5.0.20. The problem has been fixed.
