Settings are only required here if several SIP providers are set up.

All settings made in this area relate to the routing of outgoing calls and have no influence on incoming calls. The routing controls which of the available lines is used for an outgoing call and in which order the available lines are used.
The completion of the numbers for calls to the local area network is also influenced by the routing.

Settings

In this tab, you can use the Routing priority drop-down menu to specify which routing is used for outgoing calls.

These are in detail:

Static

The telephone system automatically selects one of the available lines and attempts to set up the call once via this line. If a line is selected on which the call number to be signalled is not configured, the call number display is suppressed.

If the "CLIP No Screening" feature is activated for the automatically dialled line, the call number display is not suppressed.

This option is the default setting of the telephone system and only works reliably in very simple scenarios, e.g. with only one line.

It is always recommended to select a different routing priority such as line or COR rule.

Line

With this routing priority, the line used for the outgoing call is determined by the number to be signalled. The call is always set up via the line on which the call number is configured.
Only one attempt is made and if this is not successful, the outgoing call is cancelled.

COR rule

If this option is selected, the rules defined in the Cost Optimised Routing - Location Based Routing tab apply. If a line is selected for the outgoing call on which the number to be signalled is not configured, this means that the number display is suppressed by the provider or the call is even rejected.
For local area dialling, e.g. to the number 1234, the country and area code of the primary number of the dialling user is used to complete the call.

If the "CLIP No Screening" feature is activated on the SIP line specified by the rules, the phone number display is not suppressed.

LBR rule

If this option is selected, the rules defined in the Cost Optimised Routing - Location Based Routing tab apply. If a line is selected for the outgoing call on which the number to be signalled is not configured, this means that the number display is suppressed by the provider or the call is even rejected.
For local area dialling, e.g. to the number 1234, the country and area code from the general line area of the telephone system is used to complete the call.

If the "CLIP No Screening" feature is activated on the STARFACE on the line specified by the rules, the call number display is not suppressed.

Line + COR rule

With this routing priority, an attempt is first made to assign a line to the outgoing call using the Line setting described above. If this assignment is not possible or the corresponding line is not available, the COR rules are applied.
Under Routing in case of unavailability, you can use the drop-down menu to select how to handle calls to users who do not have a reachable telephone and have not defined call forwarding. The following options can be selected:
to drop station: The caller is immediately forwarded to the drop station whose number has been entered in the line configuration. If no drop station is configured, the call is rejected.
reject: The call is rejected and not forwarded.

Cost Optimised Routing - Create new rule

A new COR rule can be created using the + or + New rule button.

Phone number

At this point, the fully qualified phone number for which the created COR rule is to apply must be stored.
It should be noted that the phone number always dials outgoing numbers in international format, e.g. with a 0049 at the beginning of the phone number for German numbers or a 0041 for numbers in Switzerland.
The "best match" rule also applies when applying the COR rules. This means that if there are several COR rules that would apply to a dialled number, the COR rule with the most matching digits is applied.

COR rules for mobile numbers must also be entered with the leading international dialling code, e.g. as 0049175.

Application examples for the entered telephone numbers could look like this:

  • 0049 This rule applies to all outgoing calls in Germany
  • 0031 This rule applies to all international calls to the Netherlands.
  • 0900 This rule applies to all calls to numbers beginning with 0900

Name

A name that is as clear and descriptive as possible should be chosen for the COR rule.
The time control of a COR rule is carried out via the day-based checkboxes and the freely selectable "from-to" time period.
It is also possible to map several time periods within a COR rule; to do this, a new time period must be created using the + New time period button. This new time period must not overlap with any of the other time periods within the COR rule.
The sequence of the lines used can be stored for each configured time period under Specify line sequence. The order of the configured lines determines their priority. This means that an attempt is first made to establish a connection via the top line, then via the second line and so on until all assigned lines have been completed.
If the outgoing calls fail on all specified lines, the outgoing call is cancelled.

If no lines are assigned to a COR rule, no outgoing calls can be made to the configured phone numbers.

Call-by-call numbers can be stored in the area code field, which are placed in front of the actual number called when a connection is established. For example, the number 072112233 is dialled and the entered prefix "888" turns it into 888004972112233.
