Reset MetaDirectory administrator password

This article explains how to reset the admin password for MetaDirectory administrator. 

Procedure

Changes in the registry and MetaDirectoryServer.xml require special expertise and access rights.

Stop MetaDirectory server

Stop the MetaDirectory server service.

Registry entry 

Delete the content/value in the registry at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\estos\MetaDirectory\Admin --> CurrentPassword.

MetaDirectoryServer.xml    

Delete the password in C:\Programs\estos\MetaDirectory\config in the MetaDirectoryServer.xml file and save the file.

Start MetaDirectory Server

Start the MetaDirectory server.

Now it is possible to log in without a password again.

Set a new password

In MetaDirectory administrator → Tools you can assign a new password.
