Remote access via Microsoft Application Proxy in Entra

The MetaDirectory can be published via an application proxy in Entra. This means the MetaDirectory is also accessible outside the local network via a web browser and as a Microsoft Teams app.

Requirements/Operating systems

Browser access and the MS Teams app are supported on the following operating systems:

  • Microsoft Windows
  • Apple MacOS/iOS
  • Google Android

With the MS Teams app, access is always (even from within the internal network) via the external URL.

If you wish to log in to MetaDirectory, this can only be done via MetaDirectory.
You can use "local user management" and the connection to "Microsoft Active Directory".
Integrated login with Entra ID (SSO) is not currently supported.

Requirements/Restrictions

The following requirements must be met:

  • In the application proxy configuration, "pre-authentication" must be set to "pass-through".
  • When creating the MS Teams app, it is essential to include the closing  / in the URL specified.

  • The MetaDirectory itself can be used with or without user management 





The connection with estos ProCall is not affected by these changes and will continue to be established exclusively via the existing interfaces (LDAP).
